In one of my previous assignments in the military, I oversaw logistics for my fire department. During this time, I became a subject matter expert on the use of a database we were mandated to use which was tricky for quite a few people. One project I was given was to create a guide on how to utilize the system and when to utilize certain features. I would say this would be technical writing because I created a document that according to the Society for Technical Communications, “provided instructions about how to do something” (Marshall, 2018, p. 1). To make it easier, I even took screenshots of the database interface to give a visual preventing confusion hopefully.
